Scholarship Application process will open again on August 1, 2024 and will close October 1, 2024. We will link the formal application on our website when the window opens.
Anyone whose parent or legal guardian who has a confirmed diagnosis with vascular Elhers Danlos Syndrome (vEDS). The applicant, themselves, can but does not need to have a vEDS diagnosis.
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must satisfy all the criteria listed below and complete the essay section of the application:
1) A 750-word essay on how vEDS has affected you and your family; as well as why you have chosen and are pursuing the program that you’re in.
2) Provide your college/trade/technical school schedule for the current/ or upcoming semester.
3) Proof of your parent’s (or legal guardian’s) diagnosis or your own diagnosis (doctor’s note is fine).
4) Proof of address in the United States.
The scholarship may be applied to a course of any subject matter. For the August 2024 scholarship application cycle, applicants must be actively enrolled in full-time or part time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational technical trade school.
A committee will review all applications received and read through the essay’s and then a decision will be made based on all criteria being met and a consensus of the Scholarship Committee.

The essay topic for 2024 is: a 750-word essay on how vEDS has affected you/and your family; as well as why you choose and are pursuing the program that you are in school.
Applicants for the 2024 BELOvEDS A Nania Foundation Scholarship will be notified if they were recipients or non-recipients by April 8th, 2024. Winners will be announced formally at our Annual Fundraiser which takes place in late April/Early May.
Awardees will be contacted privately to coordinate award acceptance.
Yes! Scholarship awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the scholarship each year they meet eligibility requirements.
