Get Ready for a Night of Glamour, Inspiration, and Impact!

 26th Annual HeartWorks Gala
Tuesday, June 9th, 2026
Cipriani 42nd Street, New York City

On June 9, 2026, the Marfan Foundation welcomes guests to Cipriani 42nd Street for Heartworks NYC 2026, an extraordinary evening celebrating 45 years of The Marfan Foundation’s impact, progress, and hope.

This year’s gala, with returning Dinner Chairs Karen Murray and Sinclair Li,  honors the Foundation’s legacy of advancing research, improving patient  care, and supporting individuals and families affected by Marfan  syndrome and related conditions—while looking ahead to the future we are  building together.

We are proud to present the Inspiration of Excellence Award to Dr. Alan and Rebecca Braverman, recognizing their extraordinary leadership and dedication to the Marfan community. The Hero with Heart Awards will be presented to Jim Prutow and Roe Nania, honoring their generosity, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to our mission.

The evening will feature electrifying entertainment by Electric Avenue and an exciting live auction led by Harry Santa Olalla.

Heartworks NYC is a celebration of community, resilience, and  the heart behind 45 years of lifesaving work—and the many milestones  still to come.

Aortic Dissection Awareness Day--September 19, 2026

  • Aortic Dissection Awareness Day is observed annually on September 19. It was created to raise awareness of a relatively rare condition that is difficult to diagnose and can be fatal when diagnosed too late in an emergency situation.

  • Aortic dissection is a condition where the innermost layer of the aorta (the main and largest artery in the body) gets injured, which results in blood flowing between the layers of the aortic wall, forcing them apart. If not treated immediately, aortic dissection can quickly lead to death from aortic rupture or myocardial ischemia (insufficient blood flow to the heart muscle).
